Human Resources Development

The key to Tanmeyah’s success lies in the quality and professionalism of our staff, from the management team to loan officers and branch managers. Our careful recruitment and in-house training programs reflect a dedication to hiring and retaining the most talented professionals in the field. In a fast growing company like Tanmeyah, there are ample opportunities for ambitious employees to develop their careers.

Tanmeyah has established its own training center at which 80 to 100 people receive targeted training in a variety of fields, from IT, General Finance and Accounting to General Business and Leadership Skills each month.

  • Amro Abouesh

    Chairman, CEO & Co-Founder, Tanmeyah

    Mr. Amro Abouesh served as the Head of Microfinance and SMEs in the Bank of Alexandria, INTESA-SanPaolo. Prior to this post, he was the Executive Advisor to the Chairman of Banque-du-Caire for Microfinance, Personal Loans and Middle Markets. Mr. Abouesh was also SME Assistant to the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade.

    Mr. Abouesh received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University and completed his post-graduate education in both London Business School, and the ISMA Center, University of Reading in the UK.

  • Amr Aboelazm

    Vice Chairman, Managing Director & Co-Founder, Tanmeyah

    Mr. Amr Abou Elazm previously served as the Deputy Director of the German Development bank (KfW) in Egypt. Prior to this Mr. Abou Elazm was Deputy Manager at the Social fund for Development (SFD) specifically in the Small Enterprise Development Organization within SFD. He was also the Senior Economist at the Economic Reform Monitoring Unit (ERSAP) and Assistant to the Advisor of the Minister at the Ministry of Economy and International Cooperation (MEIC) managing Donor funds earmarked to Development portfolios.

    Mr. Abou Elazm received a B.A in Economics from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 1993 and a Master’s Degree in Development from AUC specializing in Development and Commercialization of Micro Finance in 2004.

    Mr. Abou Elazm is responsible for finance, accounting, administration, audit and internal control, risk, information technology, human resources, collection and operations sectors of Tanmeyah.

  • Wael Ziada

    Vice Chairman

    Mr. Ziada is EFG Hermes Finance’s Chief Executive Officer since March 2016. Previously, he served as EFG Hermes’ Head of Research and oversaw the division’s rapid expansion of multi-sector coverage and inclusion of about 57% of the MENA region’s aggregate capitalisation. In parallel, and as of January 2015, he was also the chairman of EFG Hermes Leasing and was a catalyst that aided the company to acquire the 8th place ranking in the financial leasing industry in under six months of operations.

    Wael has over 15 years of experience in the Middle East equity capital markets and is a member of the Executive Committee of the firm. Wael has worked on more than 8 IPOs and has working knowledge on a variety of sectors including, Telecoms, Real Estate and hospitality. Prior to joining EFG Hermes Wael worked as an economist for G15 group and a consultant. Wael has a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo

  • Ahmed El-Kholy

    Board Member

    Ahmed has nearly two decades of experience in the financial industry starting 1998. He started his leasing career at Incolease and became a founding team member where he spent nine years. Later on, he become the Head of Marketing at Corplease followed by GB Lease (a GB subsidiary) where he helped create the foundation for GB Lease over a five-year period. El Kholy played a fundamental role in establishing the company's full infrastructure; including manuals and processes and personally developing GB Lease's portfolio. Prior to becoming the CEO of EFG Hermes Leasing, he was most recently the General Manager for Business Development at AL-Ahli Lease (a subsidiary of the National Bank of Egypt). Among El Kholy's experiences is working in the mortgage finance industry gaining experience in the retail segment of the non-banking financial services sector. Ahmed holds a BA in Accounting from Cairo University and a Master's in International Business Administration from ESLSCA University in France. He is also a graduate of the EFG Hermes Finance and Investment Appraisal Course and earned a diploma in Risk Management from the American Academy for Financial Management.

  • Karim Awad

    Board Member

    Karim Awad is Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of EFG Hermes, the leading investment bank of the Arab world, with operations in seven countries serving regional and global clients. Since assuming leadership of the firm in 2013, Mr. Awad has led EFG Hermes’ return to profitability by building a comprehensive regional advisory pipeline; extended its leadership as the Arab world’s largest securities brokerage; continued to lead its peers in like-for-like rankings as an asset manager; successfully refocused private equity business; and continued to provide the region’s highest-quality research offering. During the first nine months of 2015, EFG Hermes generated revenues of USD 1,908 million and net profits of USD 381 million.
    Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Awad was Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Banking platform with an overall responsibility for managing the firm’s Investment Banking, Securities Brokerage, Research, Asset Management, and Private Equity divisions. Earlier he was head of Investment Banking, having joined the division in 1998.
    Mr. Awad has a long track record advising major corporations on equity offerings and M&A transactions and was instrumental in the development of EFG Hermes’s debt advisory practice. During his tenure in the Investment Banking division, he led and closed transactions with an aggregate value of more than USD 40 billion.

  • Mohammed AbdelKhabir

    Board Member

    Mr. AbdelKhabir is EFG Hermes’ Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his current post, Abdelkhabir joined EFG Hermes’ Investment Banking Division in early 2008 and remained in this division until March 2016 as a director.

    Previously, he held the position of Financial Planning Manager at Procter and Gamble in the Corporate Finance divisions with a focus on financial planning, budgeting, corporate restructure, integration and profit forecasting. He holds a BA in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo with a concentration in finance where he graduated with high honors and is a CFA charterholder.

    Abdelkhabir’s notable transactions during his investment banking tenure include the IPO of Integrated Diagnostics Holding (IDH) -through a secondary offering worth USD 334 mn in the London Stock Exchange (LSE), and the sale of a leading hospital in Egypt to the Abraj Group, the merger of Al Borg and Al Mokhtabar laboratories -, ENPC’s USD 1.05 bn Syndicated Loan and Issuance of ODH EDRs worth USD 1.8 bn.

  • Fatma Lotfy

    Board Member

    Over 30 years of commercial and investment banking experience, Mrs. Lotfy held several senior positions in a number of renowned international and local banks. She held the position of General Manager at CIB (previously Chase National Bank) and Executive Director at CIIC (Commercial International Investment Company), following which she held the position of Senior General Manager at EAB (Egyptian American Bank- an American Express affiliate).
    Mrs. Lotfy’s career highlights include her tenure as the Managing Director of Al Watany Bank (currently NBK). She also led the tireless task of the restructuring and turnaround of Bank of Alexandria and its privatization. She was later on retained by Intesa San Paolo Bank as the first Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Bank of Alexandria. She later on joined Bank Audi Egypt as the Deputy Chairman and Managing Director and was able to achieve a remarkable growth and turnaround.
    On the other hand, Mrs. Lotfy was an active member of the Economic Committee of the Women’s National Congress. She is a founding member of the Egyptian European Council, a member of the Private Equity Association, and a board member of Credit Libanais, Edita and EFG Leasing.

  • Amro Abouesh

    Chairman, CEO & Co-Founder

  • Ahab Eyada

    Chief Business Officer

    Before Tanmeyah, Dr. Eyada was the Assistant to the Minister of Finance for Information Systems and Development. Dr. Eyada worked in MIBANK for over 23 years in managing information systems and process reengineering. Furthermore, he worked as a freelance consultant in areas enhancing working environment and productivity, information systems management and developing financial and banking solutions. Dr. Eyada worked in Olivetti for five years and the Central Bank of Egypt for nearly 3 years.

    He completed his post-graduate education in both the American National University (ANU) and City University Los Angeles (CULA) USA, after graduating from the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University in 1975.

  • Ahmed Khorched

    Chief Risk Officer

    With a career spanning 19 years in the banking sector, Mr. Khorched previously served as a manager in PMO National Bank of Kuwait - Kuwait. He began his career in the Credit Department of HSBC - Egypt, before moving on to work as a Project Manager at MINC Associates Worldwide Ltd. during the restructuring program of Bank of Alexandria.

    Furthermore, Mr.Khorched has worked as a Product Manager at BNP Paribas - Egypt, before moving to work in Organization & Methods department of Burgan Bank - Kuwait.

    Mr.Khorched holds a Bachelor of Economics from Faculty of Economics and Political Science from Cairo University, achieving an MBA in Banking and Finance from Maastricht School of Management.
